Yet another reason for me to be picking up a PS3 this Christmas, Yakuza 3 is confirmed for a western release next year. This is probably the closest thing I'm gonna get to a Shenmue sequel. Happy days in any case! Anyone here played 1 or 2?

Nice! Always meant to play one of these games. Downloaded the Japanese demo of 3 out of curiosity a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it - filled me with pleasant nostalgia of my voyage to Nippon (got a good laugh out of the Suntory Boss Coffee machines all over the place). Combat system seems very rich, but alas didn't have a clue what was going in the extraordinarily long dialogue sequences (unskippable!). But yes, I think I shall finally try out this series, if only to recreate the experience of walking through Shinjuku and Harajuku!

I've only played a bit of Yakuza 1 but it was really good. Must finish it and try Yakuza 2. Can't wait for this game.
