Continuous Assessment Failure

Hi, just realised i missed most of my tests in a module there. I thought it was only 20% CA for the year so i didnt mind missing some... but CA is 100%. So I think I might have failed already:(

Is there any sort summer repeat exams if you fail the CA? I might be able to scrape a 30% a pass by compensation but i dunno because i would need almost full marks in the remainder of the tests. The module only lasts till Christmas. Anyone know? Is it too late for me?

Unfortunately, there's usually no oppurtunity to repeat CA so you might have failed already.
Make sure to check the Book of Modules though. Just click on the module code and will tell you all the requirements.

doctors note, then you'll either get the class average or resit the exam

If you skipped those tests on purpose then you're not getting any sympathy from anyone around here

    *sympathy*

Book of modules is your starting point, if all else fails (hah) go talk to your lecturer and beg, they might take pity.

With some courses they will have re-scheduled ca's and labs for people who missed them for genuine reasons i.e have proper proof for their absence. Either try and find some excuse for why you missed them (tut tut ;P) or get in contact with your lecturer.

One of the first things you do is check how the subjects you pick are marked. Seriously. Unless you've been seriously ill or something similar there will be a noticeable lack of sympathy from people around here.

Check out the Book of Module and know what percentage of marks the CA counted for.

Then, get in touch with the lecturer and see if there is anything that you can do to make up the marks.

Oh my Jebus, false alarm. I didnt miss that many lectures like just the last 2 or 3 weeks. But the book of modules wasnt updated since last year i guess or something. Asked lecturer today but turns out we're gonna get more assignments instead of the class tests that were suppose to be on. book of modules was wrong. Jesus... I knew I couldnt have missed that much, never got emails about them or anything... I was planning new degrees to do and everthing, thank fucc.
    I learned my lesson anyway:o

Mind that there, nothing wrong with taking the scraping through approach to some modules (though obviously it's not ideal), but make sure you have your facts straight!

Glad it worked out for you though :D
