Secure internal blog or wiki

    Hi folks,

    Just wondering if anyone has had success at downloading free wiki or blog software, hosting on a server and providing access to a number of people on a network? Im not so worried about the user 'buy-in' for now, just the software part.
    Ideally I want something that can have a host of topics which users can update and be emailed when there is a change or addition to a topic they are in.
    Also it needs to be secure hence the reason I don't want to build it on the web.

    MediaWiki is good and free and allows a selection of authentication methods (LDAP, PAM, htaccess)
