What is your favourite song by a big artist that is relatively unknown?

The criteria for an "unknown" song is one that was unreleased on an album, that few people are aware of, or a song that is simply underground.

For S0crates it is this song, vintage Nas. It is a pity the song is so short, but the lyrics and beat are top-notch.

So what are the other hidden gems out there from popular rappers?

One of my favorite MF Doom verses is a guest one on this track. Kills it with the nerdy game references.

Don't know where this one came from, features Swifty and that fat fool Bizarre.

Doesy anbody now where Hellbound is from, one of my favorites

Another D12 one that is far better than most stuff on D12 World which was very disappointing in my opinion

Would have to have a proper think about that one. Off the top of my head, when I was a young lad in the 90s and pretty much all I listened to was 2Pac, I always loved "Str8 Ballin" from the Thuglife album and "Pain" which I only saw released on an Above the Rim EP.

Also from Wu-Tang Forever always loved "For Heavens Sake"

There are also plenty of De La & Tribe tracks which I can't think of now

Yeah those 2Pac songs are class. Pain is IMO his best song and it has only featured on an OST so is quite hard to find. Don't know if it's even on iTunes.

A censored version of Words Are Weapons was on a second disc that came with some copies of Devil's Night. It's a pretty good song.

yeah its really one of his best. its relatively unheard of because it never appeared on any of his albums. i think its available on itunes - try searching for an album called "15 years on death row".

for those who havent heard it

The original "Renegade" with Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 who's vocals were later replaced with Jay-Z's on The Blueprint. I prefer this version, I'm sure a lot of you already know this track.

Favourite song on Wu-Tang Forever Disc 1 (2nd favourite song on the album after Triumph).

Also, this Roots track that never made it on to an album proper (it's on Home Grown Vol. 1 and Come Alive but not a studio album).
