I've tried 2 - Ghost Squad and House Of The Dead - Overkill. Both have their merits.
Personally I'd go for HotD:O - it's cheap at 10-15 euro last time I saw a copy; It's good fun, with varied stages and a number of different ways of increasing longevity (hidden targets to shoot, "extra mutants" modes, directors cut mode). The bosses are fairly samey (although the Ringu inspired one is fab) but the hook here is the B-movie plot complete with a truck load of swearing. Scratch that. It's no truck, it's an oil tanker.

On the downside, the camera is annoying - it's on rails but pointing at the edges of the screen gives you limited panning control, making some targets hard to hit 'cause they're *always* at the edges. Also, might just be me but I found that depending on where the Sensor bar is, either the top or bottom of the screen was filled with "dead" spots no matter how many times I ran the calibration wizard. Small niggle though. There's no reason not to get this. Unless the go-go dancer opening credits will upset your mum/wife/grandkids.

Ghost Squad is short - you complete all 3 stages in about 30 minutes - and while you "level up" the stage's difficulty as your career score goes up and can unlock different paths through them, it's slow going and can ultimately become boring. A large amount of unlockable weapons add a little variety, with a number of costumes, Ninja mode (the same game with throwing stars), Bikini mode (turns the game into a David Lee Roth video) and dual wield modes (so I hear - never found it myself) that can be unlocked to keep you plugging away. If you want a conventional shooting game though, it delivers.

By the way, you HAVE To have either a Zapper or better yet a Perfect Shot pistol grip or you'll feel like Harry Potter waving a wand at the screen :)

There're a few others that I'm sure someone else can fill you in on - House of the Dead 2/3 ; Resident Evil : Umbrella Chronicles ; I think one of the medal of honour games is on rails and there's a new Resi Evil chronicles game out.... but I ain't played 'em so I can't say if they're worth a look

Best one on the http://www.metacritic.com/games/wii/ site is the new Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles. You can play Call of Duty:Modern Warfare:Reflex Edition on rails as well (but it's much more fun as a proper FPS!)

Medal of Honor Heroes 2 also has a shooter mode, not bad.

I'm surprised no mention was made of Dead Space: Extraction, an outstanding on rails shooter, easily as atmospheric and scary as it's 360/PS3 brother.

It's worth tracking down the various official packs for the likes of HOTD Overkill as it comes with a large revolver style gun to fit your Wiimote into.

COD3 isn't bad either on the Wii, and while it isn't on rails, it is very very good, as much fun as the other console editions anyway
