    Hi All
I have had a problem in the last week where I have perfect rte 1 & 2 but tv3 & tg4 have extremely poor reception and are almost all snow.

I have external tv ariels and on both tv's I have in the house it is the same story.

I also pick up the signal from sctv and there seems to be no reception for the four english channels (bbc1&2, itv & c4). I am in the aghada area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

By any chance, would your TV3/TG4 and or SCTV be on channels 24 & 25 uhf ? Mullaghanish have powered up the DTT muxes on these channels recently, albeit without audio or video, but blank signal from there could cause you problems, but only if your using 24 & 25 as I said. If your not, then it's something else that's causing the problem.

Sounds more like RTE is being recieved on a seperate (VHF ?) aerial and the UHF aerial (or preamplifier) is faulty

    I checked with someone and
the 'deflector' transmitter I would expect you were receiving from is still on air (Marlogue) BBC2=CH34, ITV=CH47, BBC1=CH50, C4=CH52 horizontal)
though sound was supposed to have been blank on Channel 4 for a few days recently

Yes sounds like your masthead amplifier or its powersupply have failed

    Hi All,
    Thanks for the replies.
I have a feeling that the amp could be faulty and will get it fixed.
    Thanks again for the advice
