Bottled gas hob

When replacing an electric hob with a bottled gas hob, do you need a fitter? It strikes me that it would be a fairly simple process, but if there's a regulatory reason for getting it fitted by a certified fitter then that's fine.

If the former, any guidelines on fitting I should be aware of, height of pipe, etc? If the latter, what kind of tradesman should I be looking for in the Golden Pages?
