Tubs or Pat kenny??

So whats the verdict so far??
Whilst I think Tubridy is more gregarious, less patronising & asks better questions, but in certain kinds of interviews he gets fidgetey & uptight & dosent let the person talk or finish their sentences. He also as we seen with Gordon Ramsey, Russell Brand & Peter Kay not comfortable with jokes made against him. However he gets my vote for the excitement factor compared to the snoozy Pat whose time was up on the LLS. However, Tubs needs to learn to take things down a notch now & again as Pat Kenny said, not every interview needs to be done at a breakneck pace..

Honestly if I saw Pat Kenny in the street while I was driving I'd be having second thoughts about braking.

I honestly can't pinpoint what it is I hate about him, possibly everything.

Those audience visits can be pretty brutal when he ends up insulting someone.. dunno if the hamper is worth it.

Ah no, we couldnt go back to Pat Kenny. Anyway, he's more at home on his new show, the frontline, sucking up to politicians & bankers.. I think Gerry Ryan would have been a deadly host for the LLS, he would turn the show into a complete farce, as what happened when he presented it for that one show last year when he was cursing & everything..

Jaysis, fickle lot on boards here. Last year, EVERYONE was complaining about Pat.

Each show used to get at least 10 of its own pages complaining about him, now most people here want him back.

For me, its definitely Tubridy. Better interviewer, more at ease with celebs and more entertaining.

Yep. The LLS is more about the lighter stuff nowadays than the serious debate. Theres nothing wrong with that. We have serious debate 3 nights a week on RTE already. So Tubridy is better suited to dealing with actors, musicians, writers etc. He can handle himself well enough on the serious topics and that will probably improve as he gets older.

Tubridy by a country mile. The Late Late show is supposed to be entertaining. Tubs entertains period.

Kenny was the worst chat show host in history in my opinion. He couldn't have a conversation with his missus nevermind a guest in front of a live audience.

He does his 'Frontline' and he is better suited to that stuff.

Tubridy by miles. C'mon, Pat Kenny?! They were a dark 8 years. I like Tubridy. Lads, nobody can beat Gay Byrne...he was at it for 40 years! Pat was ****e though.

Agree Tubs is better with the celebs, kenny always seemed awkward and ill at ease, also it was like he had to fake a laugh with certain guests. Must've been awful for him

My vote goes to Tubridy, although his show is far from perfect he beats Kenny by a mile. As previous posters have stated; Kenny is brilliant on Frontline but he was cringe worthy on the LLS.

It is rather shocking that a country with so many people, we can't get the host thing right (and been hosts is what we're supposed to be good at.
Tubs was more in tune with the lighter sat show.
Prob is he's not completly at ease and come across as smarmy at times, off-handed or nervous - interupting his guests, etc. He needs to tap into his human side, less conan o brien influence and find his own voice.
On the other hand he is sharp at times and handled Bertie reasonabely well.
Anyway, we're stuck with him - one thing RTE don't do is replace people until a least ten years of suffering.;)

He comes across as nervous probably because he is. This is a show that has been running for longer than he's been alive, and I'm sure he's well aware that he has big shoes to fill (Gay's more than Pat's, in my opinion). It'll take him a while to get properly into his groove.

Also, I think he's uncomfortable with the praise he's been getting, to be honest. You can see he gets all embarrassed when a guest congratulates him on the job. I'm not sure he fully believes he's worthy of the position either.

All things considered, I think he's doing a fine job.

Tubridy for sure... He's so much easier to watch, as he is so much more at ease. Kenny was so dull and awkward. I'd go so far as to say Kenny was creepy. I can now enjoy the LLS again and since Tubridy took the helm it's become essential viewing ( even if it is watched on the rte player on a saturday afternoon!):D

kenny for me. always liked him. i like tubridy and he was the only choice for the late late when pat left but overall i prefer pat.

Ryan Tubridy is much better in my opinion. Pat Kenny's show was old and tired. The guests he had on were old and tired.

I like the house band and they way he doesn't notice when his guests are high on coke.
