There are lots of cracking country artists; it's just not cool to admit it.

It has nothing to do with getting old.

Not everyone wants to listen to X-factor rubbish or barely-understandable "yo, dudes, hangin' with my f**kin' homies" rubbish.

Add in the amount of songs that were originally country songs - e.g. Aerosmith's "Don't want to miss a thing" - and anyone who doesn't at least give some country stuff a listen is missing out.

Fair play for enjoying it, and if you're looking for suggestions you should check out Trisha Yearwood, Collin Raye, Suzy Bogguss and Mary Chapin-Carpenter.

Personally, it'd depend on what I was in the mood for - what I'll put on varies an awful lot - but I've been like that since I was 21...

So no, 27 isn't "too young" to realise that there's a lot of different music out there to be enjoyed.

P.S. http://www.hotcountry.ie is worth checking out at weekends, too! :)

P.P.S. Just noticed that while I was typing the usual AH rubbish has started.... their loss, OP......

No problem with that, cg.......what I hate is when people who don't even give it a chance slag it off.

Interestingly, though, lots of "classic rock" borders on country......The Eagles, etc.

    Johnny Cash is a legend

Im only early twenties but i love all his music, and have been listening to it (again) for the past month

His movie "Walk the Line" inspired me as iv only seen it recently

I started to appreciate Country music when I was about 24, while driving through Los Santos and San Fierro.

Good old KRose, what a great station.

actually not a fan of The Eagles :P more into Pink Floyd, The Who, Jefferson Airplane etc. I suppose the vibe of country that The Eagles gave off put me off, and moreso their popularity led to a resurgence in country music popularity.

Most likely it only means that your IQ is on higher than average level.

    No Disco/Techno = IQ up.

    Dont worry.

22 myself and absolutely love Johnny Cash.
My mum always had him playing in the kitchen growing up,and I never disliked the music but didn't have a huge interest in it either.
It was my boyfriend who re-introduced me to Johnny Cash, and the more songs of his I discovered and started listening to,the more I loved his music.
The oh also introduced me to the late Liam Clancy in the clancy brothers a few years back, and tommy makem.-he has good taste in music imo.
I like all types of music from classical, cheesy pop, trance, indie, trad, and rock etc.
There's nothing wrong with liking abit of country! :)

    That's interesting Dr. Phil.

A survey came out recently that found that Beyonce had the lowest IQ fans.

Rather on (paid) surveys I base my opinion on my own observations and experiences.

EDIT: Excuse my ignorance but HH, RnB, etc. its the same ****e to me = disco/techno ;)

A little bit of country is okay but if you have started line dancing then its time for us to put you on the ice flow and push you out to sea.
