Why the hell did RTE have him doing the LLS for years and years when his true calling is with this style of show.

What was that show he did back in the 80's - Today Tonight or something???? He rocked in that as well.

    :)

Would anyone agree that this is the best Frontline in weeks?

The reason? No politicians present! They're completely unnecessary when you want a good debate.

Didn't see this tonight - SO looking forward to catching it on RTE Player tomorrow. I've a lot of time for 'Mr Kenny' (I remember a time when Dermot Morgan would be in the audience of Kenny Live and be yelling 'Mr Kenny, Mr Kenny')..

By the way, I'm someone who has a lot of fondness for 'the Catholic Church'. I think there's a lot of good associated with it, in Ireland, and I don't think we should throw out the baby with the bathwater...but there sure was some filthy bathwater.

Yeah, that or a side show of freakiness.
Poor Pat moving into Gerry Ryan World
At least with Today Tonight and early prime time he was engaged on a level his was comfortable with.
Pat n People just don't mix.
Pat n Politicians do (they don't count as people)

If you are watching on the RTE player later please see if you can match the Lady in Red in the audience to the woman at 3.55 on this clip - see thread.

Funny that a researcher approached her. Must have been hoping she'd still be into her religion.

Interesting that many of the defenders of the priests on the programme are from the North - something to do with their identity being tied in so much with their religion perhaps?

The show was great, Ian O Doherty's 'superstition has no place in eduction' was fab.

I think it is just junk TV - Jeremy Kyle without the scangers.

Pat only wants to get his own agenda across and shoots down anyone who he doesn't agree with.
While watching last night I was thinking if I was important enough that he wanted me on it, I would probably turn him down but agree to go on his radio show - much better.

I would have loved to hear more from Mary - she was hilarious.

I've never liked Ian O' Doherty, urgh. He reminds me of Eamon Dunphy, have a bit more time for him.

    Mary was dreadful.

I always liked O Doherty, his articles always bring a chuckle on and when I was younger I was seated beside him for work experience in Independent Newspapers. Nice enough chap

I actually thought that everything that he said up to that point made sense, and was reasonable, fair and relevant to EVERYONE.

But when he threw in that stupid comment (thereby dissing anyone who believes) that he let himself down badly, as anyone who respects others' views would have immediately thought of him as an ignorant prick and stopped listening to his previously valid points.

I know some of the people behind "Count Me Out" if someone is looking for them. (dunno how contactable they want to be... )

They won a IWA award for best use of Social Media in a Campaign.

    DeV.

I agree with him on the whole religion thing, but overall he reminds me of Kevin Myers.Trying to be controversial for the sake of it.

there was point a which he was asking a question of breda o brien she proceeded to answer him but he wasn't getting the answer he wanted so repeated the question which was really just statement from him as if she hadn't been answering him.

obviously he has some sympathy with secularisation of schools don't get trust to unbiased a subject he dislikes
