Putting Up The Christmas Tree

Ma Volvoboy and her partner have gone to Brussels for the weekend, gave siter Volvoboy and Volvoboy clear instructions, put up the Christmas tree, and dont let the dogs **** in the house.

So she's back tomorrow, so off we go to get the christmas tree, €45 for a nice tree and stand, feeling a bit bad that we didnt pick the other trees, kinda brings Volvoboy back to his 1st school dance. The ugly ones were left till last, and the pretty ones go 1st, so we got a stunner, if i was a fern i'd ride it.

Car now smelling of christmas tree's, kinda in a good way. In the house now in its nude, we gotta go up into the attic, yea it is ****ing dangerious doing so, standing on a poxy stool thats only in the house to serve this purpose.

Decos down, between untangling the lights and then plugging them in to find that 14 of the 50 fairly lights are working :mad: putting them around the bloody thing standing on them as ya do, left the sister to do the rest because i had to come and tell the internet how i got mildly stressed about somthing i do once a year.

Mine wasn't taken down - since Christmas it's been an Easter tree, a summer tree, forgot about Autumn and in a few weeks the Christmas baubles will go back up again.

I saved up all the bottle caps from each session we`v had over the year turns out its an overflowing tin full...
And now ther all hanging outa the tree by pieces of string..
Now I cant look at the tree without thinking of drinking..
What was I thinking?

Solution for the 14 broken bulbs....use 14 birthday candles.

Melt them in place onto the tree branches with some hot wax, and they'll light up that tree in no time.

I love doing the baubles and tinsel or ribbons,but fecking hate doing the lights. The first time I decorated a tree entirely by myself,I put all the baubles etc. on first and spent ages getting them all properly colour co-ordinated,and in a neat order.
I then tried to wrap the lights around the tree,and the wires proceeded to knock all the baubles and tinsel to the ground and ruined my hard work.
Had to take everything of and start entirely from scratch!
It had never even occurred to me that the lights should go on first,as my mum had usually done the lights at home,so just didn't think it would make a difference.
It was nowhere near neat by the time I was finished decorating it for the second time!

Ah well,I suppose I'll know for again. :-)

Yep. One of friends has a gorgeous white and gold angel,with a little white fur trim on the wings.
We vary each year between a star or angel,but I personally think the angels look much prettier. :-)
