Hi as i have said on a previous thread that i am closing my business at the end of Dec, i enquired today with the social welfare and they said i may qualify for jobseekers, what i'm wondering is if you owe the revenue lots of cash will you still get it as your pps number is your vat number?

Moving this thread to Taxation as I feel you may get better answers there. As far as I am aware, Social welfare have no details on any debts you may owe to Revenue.
Mods sorry if this isn't the correct forum.

Revenue and Social Welfare work closely together and have been sharing information for decades.
They, SW, will be immediately aware of your current debt to revenue.

However, I am not sure if this would exempt you from benefit as you still ahve to live and clearly don't have funds.
