Sounds like it's a petrol turbo - has it had an engine swap?

I forgot to mention it runs 100% on LPG.

According to the thread it 'only' makes 200bhp on LPG.

Yeah, but it will and more when he increases the boost and fine tunes the mapping.

If it's running on LPG it's a petrol engine. If it's got boost it's turbocharged.

If that's the case it's an engine swap, as no Transit Connect comes with a petrol engine.

Wasn't that a one-off built by Ford engineers?

    Wasn't the Supervan 3 a re-bodied Supervan 2?

I think the original Supervan 2 had a Le Mans Sports Car chassis and a 600hp endurance racing engine. I imagine that Cosworth removed the endurance racing engine when rebuilt into the Supervan 3 and fitted the 2.9 BOA Cosworth

The Original Transit Supervan ran with a GT40 engine/gearbox and was geared for 180mph. I remember reading about one "demo" run against the latest Ford BTCC cars at the time (Alan Mann or Broadspeed Escort) and the Transit lost after spinning on the wet track.......

Edit - I was wrong about the opposition in the race - It was a group 2 Escort. I found the clips on youtube.

There is a Merc dealer in Ireland with a Lambo engine in a Vito.

I haven't ever seen it but I have heard of it enough times to believe it

A few transits in england were fitted with the cosworth engine and running gear...

Renault F1 also had an Espace fitted with their V10 engine back in the 90's

Man I wouldn't mind driving a renault if it sounded like this...:D

Well, if you have enough money, you can by a Claer CT3, CT4/993 or CT5/R.

Those are based on VW Caravelle (T25, T4 and T5).

The T4 comes with a tuned Ruf Porsche 993 engine at 522 bhp, the CT5/R has a Ruf Porsche 997 engine at 720 bhp. Can't remember what the T25 model (CT3) outputs, but it's plenty.

    /M
