Complete the P50 form (it can be downloaded on the Revenue site.).

You send it back to them along with Part 2 and Part 3 of your P45 which your employer should have given you when you were sacked.

You fill in your bank details on the form, and within about 1-2 weeks you should get a few bob lodged to your account.

You have to wait between 2 and 4 weeks after you were sacked to send it in - I think it's 2 weeks.

    Good luck.

Don't send them Part 4 of your P45 - you need this to get your dole.

    Hi King Stew,

I'm in the same boat as yourself and was advised by Revenue that it would be advisable to get the reclaim form into Revenue before the end of the year as they will have a massive increase in tax reclaims come 2010. You're supposed to wait a number of weeks before claiming tax back when you sign on but I'd imagine that you'd be safe enough sending in a form now as it will take them a number of weeks to process it!

    Hope this helps!
