I've been reading a lot on boards the description of genuine to describe people, what does it actually mean to you?

If someone looked poor but were in fact rich that would not be genuine.

The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you've got it made.

    Great thread btw OP.

Someone who is not false or pretentious.
Someone who is sincere in what they say and do.
Someone who doesn't do or say things or act a certain way with an ulterior motive.

I think I have it now, if someone were to look evil but were in fact a nice honest person they would not be a genuine person.

Genuine people,as opposed to those conceived by in-vitro-fertilisation.

It's used widely in dating services and speed-dating to imbue impressionable, potential partners with the utterly foolish notion that you won't be like all the others.

Can be used in tandem with GSOH, slim and/or solvent for added duplicity.

As far as I know genuine people, especially girls, are the ones at the end of the phone who want to chat now.

Dial 1***-69-69-69 to chat to genuine girls NOW!

    tee-hee-hee!

I went into the jacks in the Cafe -en-Seine to take a dump when I surveyed the contents of the pot.

"Now there's a genuine person ,I said to myself, nobody but a real genuine person could leave a fcuking log like that wallowing there unflushed"

    Fcuker was like Meatloaf's daughter.

The thing that annoys me about the way genuine is used is that it's always used to describe good people or people with altruistic intentions. Why are evil people never described as genuine? I know several evil dicatators who seem fairly genuine. They let you know where they stand in a geniune way.

The phrase for them types is 'Hard but fair'.

This thread made me think of this...
Well sir, there's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car Monorail!
