    Hi,

I just got a letter in the post today saying I need to go collect my first Jobseekers allowance payment in two days time. But the letter doesnt tell me how much I'm going to get and also if it will be backdated to when I made the claim 3 weeks ago!
Does anybody know if it gets backdated?

Also I thought you needed some sort of card to collect the payments from the post office, all i have is my social services card, is this the only card I need?

    Thanks in advance,
    Michael

It will be paid from the date you made your claim, but that may or may not be there with your first payment - sometimes depending on the amount it may take some time to process.
You need your social services card and some form of picture ID to collect your payment from the Post Office.
