    I got a letter in the post today saying that I've been approved for Jobseeker's allowance at €204.30 per week. The thing is, how does this affect my rent allowance? I've been on the supplementary allowance for the last few months which amounted to €238 per week with rent allowance. The letter I got makes no reference to the rent allowance. Do I have to re-register for rent allowance?

    Your rent allowance is a separate payment on the system from supplementary welfare allowance. Your SWA will stopp but your rent will stay the same.

    Thanks for that. Just one more question; will I keep collecting the rent allowance on the same day as I used to (Thursday) or will I be getting it with my JA on the new day (Tuesday)?

    It should still be thursday - that is paid by the Community Welfare Officer, if you want your day changed to Tuesday go speak with them and see if they can do that.
