Swap UK SIM in data modem for irish phone SIM

    Hi all,

    Went to England without my dongle for laptop and ended up buying a new one - Vodafone Pay as you go broadband. Got Vodafone Mobile Connect service - HSDPA USB stick - model K3565, white. Box says cannot roam on this modem and has to be topped up by £15 vouchers / credit card top only.

    I have an Irish Vodafone mobile phone SIM with 90 euro on it - it was from a family member - I dont need it for calls and texts - can I use it in my Vodafone UK modem in Ireland? Are modems of this nature locked to the network ie Vodafone UK?

    Generally the modems are locked, but the only way to know would be to check it yourself.
