A while back all our staff where issued with a spray for use against dogs. I began to use the pouch for a secondary light source and stopped taking out this spray as I had more than enough stuff hanging of me.

A few nights ago I was at a burglary at a Construction yard, when a f**king huge mastiff comes screaming out of a old caravan at me. The image of the dog spray sitting in the gunsafe in the office came straight to mind. :o

Anyone ever had a case where they out working and missed something ?

Forgive my ignorance, how do you use it to break windows?

Wouldn't the Asp be as handy?

The pointed metal bit at the bottom is used to break windows. I'm sure an ASP will do but then you still have to get out your seat-belt cutter or knife to release the belt if you can't access the release button. This combines two tools into one, and some model can be fitted onto vests for quick access.

I see I did notice it would fit fairly handy into the Molle slots.

    Thanks for that

Heres a link for the video they have on it, just click the wee play icon when the page opens. It might take a half minute to load.

    http://www.patrolstore.com/Gerber-Strap-Cutter-and-Window-Breaker---Black-p-12169.html#video

Its great device to have, theres nothing that could possibly break or fall apart on this boyo.

I would actually buy it just to practice using it. :D

In work I would never use it. Saving folk from cars is not really something we do.

Now I have said that I am bound to run across a car wreck next week.

Breaching windows is what i use it primarily for, it comes in handy for use as a knife too if i happen to forget my mp knife! :)

For the very few times i have had to break car windows or house windows (unplanned) over the years, i found the baton and now the asp well up to the job. If its planned use the hooligan bar. As regards seatbelts, i have seatbelt cutter on leatherman.

True, but the very first time i used it was to an attempted suicide, carbon monoxide poisoning, the kinda situations were its quickly needed, instead of withdrawing the asp, releasing it and swinging. IMO i prefer it over the asp for them kinda situations....bt hey thats me.:(

What you want for the dogs is a CO2 fire extinguisher. I don't know if you have one in the car but forget about that nonsense on your belt. Regardless of what hound comes at you, pit-bull, rottweiler, you name it, a quick squirt of the fire extinguisher into its face will get rid of it.
