    Hi,
I just started a job and being paid about 10 euro an hour. I've noticed that I'm being emergency taxed and wondering how I can get the money back. I've been to the revenue.ie website but I can't understand most of the stuff.

Can anybody tell me what I can do to get the tax back? I'm working 9-12 hours a week, 18 years old and living with parents.

If you're still working get a Form 12A from Revenue, that we get you your tax credits and will mean you will be paying no more tax.

http://www.revenue.ie/en/personal/tax-refunds.html This should help you in reclaiming it.

Tell your employer what your PRSI number is.

And do the 12A (as per the previous post).

And if your boss doesn't process it before the last payroll of the year (quite possible, since it's now mid-December), you will need to apply to Revenue for a balancing statement, sometimes in the new year.

Ring them and explain. they're very helpful and often will do it over the phone for you ( at least that's been my experience).Have your PPS number to hand, and if you can, I think there should be a number for your company too - kind of a reg number, it's usually on payslips.
