Just checking these out today and they seem mightily impressive for the money. Despite being a last generation A4, for the price you pay, you get a lot of quality for your money. The dashboard from the Cabriolet in particular works well, still looking up to date and being beautiful in its construction. All the attention to detail that was in the last A4 is also still present, such as the parallelogram boot hinges which have sadly disappeared from the current model in obviously a cost saving measure.

I wonder what the chances are of them doing a version of the old S4 badged as an FR and the RS4 as a Cupra?:)

I think 4WD versions have been completely ruled out.

been discussed heavily here before too :)

I'm aware of that. I just thought it wouldn't hurt to bring it up again seeing as there isn't much going on in the motoring forum these days anyway.

Edit: 1,000 posts, pop open the champagne!:D

Fair point, on a similar note which would you go for, a Superb with a few extras or an Exeo?

Probably a Superb to be honest.

I like the Exeo and admire it for what it is, but I still think I'd struggle to put my name down for one.

Yep, i think a lot would.

Whats more, they have'nt even bothered putting alloys as standard in this country!

So, a better specced one in this country will be about 28K! A Superb greenline is under 25k€ now, like, and is probably better equipped despite alloys not being standard! That said, the Exeo has the better engine in the 2.0 CR 110. Ye know the Exeo even has a better engine than the passat too now that the passat has got the limp 1.6 CR 105. Hopefully the Superb will get the 2.0 CR 110 soon..

Interms of a feeling of space you want in a family car though, the exeo simply cant match the passat, superb, mondeo or anything else in the class really..

EDIT: And i see theyre offering the ancient 1.6MPi 100bhp petrol in this country, despite it being the same price as the diesel:rolleyes:

I thought the Exeo was getting 143 horsies standard?

120 and 143...plus that 1.6 which is completely pointless

UK models have 16 inch alloys as standard. you'd have a UK 120 S model cleared for €26500 before discounts. 143bhp for roughly €1k more

And the 170 and the 200 TFSI, though no diesel multitronic, just on the TFSI

Indeed. It's hard to believe mugs paid premium prices for the same mediocre car a few years ago. Especially the tractor diesel and pre-christ 1.6 petrol ones :)

The worrying thing is, they probably would again just for the four rings and a goatee on the front.
