Tuition fees in Ireland

I want to return to Ireland next year and go back to University. I haven't lived at home in Ireland for seven years and never went to university there so I would be returning as a mature student to do a full-time undergraduate degree. What is the situation with university fees in Ireland now? It was free on the first attempt when I was last home, is that still the case? Also I have a British friend who is interested in coming with me to do the same course. What are fees like for UK/EU students?

Depends if you left the EU or not for those 7 years. Sounds like you'd probably be able to get free fees and they'd give you about 6 or 7 large to go to school - although they are seriously fcking with people over at the council this year. They sent my application back twice for pure bs reasons in the hope that I would fck off.

Aint nothing like kicking a cash cow when it's down. I'd say grab as much as you can as soon as possible. I'm sure next year will be much worse.

They need to cut the scumbags' cider allowance or make buckfast free or something. We need our grants.
