1000baseT Wireless router for NTL BB?

Heya folks!

I'm on NTL broadband in D9 (fooking prawns!) and noticed how shocking my speeds were in copying bits to a nas I have set up and it turns out the router I have (the WGR614r v7) is only 10/100 as a switch so that'll have to go since I want to stream hd files to a ps3. Has anyone got a gigabit wireless router that works well for them with NTL broadband?

I use a ZyXEL NBG-460N which is working very well for me.

I bought it from komplett but they don't seem to have it any more. Elara list it but it isn't in stock at the moment.

I get a good 8-9MB on wireless (130Mbps indicated) and that's on a 2.4GHz 20MHz slice. You might be better off looking out for a nice dual band 2.4GHz/5GHz router if you want more wireless throughput. The maximum wired speed that I got was limited by my disks I reckon! I think I was getting between 60MBps and 80MBps from my laptop (momentus 7200.4) and higher from my desktop (Samsung Spinpoint F1).

By his post it seems his slow speed problems are wired (he mentioned 10/100 switch so I'm assuming this). Why not just get a gigabit switch?

9 megs a second sounds like it'd be good enough for the ps3 alright - wasn't sure how finicky the ntl motorola modem was, cheers for the feedback!

It varies from 7 to 9 on wireless, and 60-90 on the wired. That's assuming you have n wireless cards though!
