Was just talking to a friend and she said her mocks are starting tomorrow?:O If this is the case that school could tell everyone whats on them and people could learn everything off?
    What's peoples opinions on this?

No. Various schools get different mocks from different companies.

Schools in the same area will have different suppliers.

This sounds a bit very suspect. I'm sure she meant her Christmas tests are starting tomorrow/today. The mocks are always around Easter. Or maybe they're getting exam-length papers. It's way too early for the actual mocks.

I don't think the 'mock' companies have their papers ready yet. They've only just sent out the order forms.

    Feb/March is usually mock time.

    Some schools have pre-mocks.

And yes, the whole spreading of papers thing happens, Boards use rockets during the mocks.......

Ugh last year the LC forum was a nightmare! "Has ny1 gt d english paprs tnx xx"

Anyway, don't cheat on your mocks kids. It's a waste of time tbh...

OP, my teachers used to say we were getting mock papers as Christmas tests, but they're not the actual mocks

She told me that she had to pay €25. And I told her every reason why they wouldn't be mocks but she had an answer to everyone so I don't know :p

Our school is only ordering them now so I'd doubt they'd be on already.

We got our mock papers to take home. I'd say at least 50% of the people who bought mock papers cheated. It's a complete waste of time...after paying the ridiculous price for the papers in the first place. If you do poorly in your mocks, there's always time to come up atleast one grade. I got a B in history in my mocks and got an A in the JC, for example.

Also, the mock papers DO NOT predict what'll come up in the JC, if it does, it's incredible luck. I remember I was incredibly lucky with mine, a very, very similiar essay that I did in my mock came up in the JC (mobile phone debate, if I recall), so I could use most of my points. In that way mocks are good.

Don't worry about them too much, just get them done, you can come up at least one grade from the time of the mocks to the JC fairly easily (especially if it's only like a 5% difference), and more if you work hard, and are lucky in the exam!
