I have been offered an 04 peugeot 206 1.4l petrol for eur3500,the car is in good enough condition but has 96,000 miles on the clock, just wondering is this the norm or does it seem like a lot. I bought my first car 5 yrs ago and it only had 54k miles on it,so going by this it seems a bit much for me. Any opinions?

    least u know its genuine,
cars that are used alot but have been serviced are ok,
using a car now and then wears engine more,
so if car is in good order, has a service history, and is in nct they why not,

It's a lot of milage on an 04, but it shouldn't make a whole lot of difference. If its well look after it should be good for many more miles.

It's only a lot if he's asking an unreasonable amount of money for it.

I have 82K on my 03 Fiesta Van.... I use it 6-7days a week - mainly just to work and back.

96k miles on a soon to be 6 year old car isn't a lot really. Roughly 15k miles a year, the normal every day use average is around 12k so it's not too far off.

my own car is a 99 seat ibiza with 122k on the clock,it needs a new clutch and the suspensions going too, would be getting the 206 for 3500 plus my own, is this a good deal or would you reckon i could do better?

No, 96K on an almost 6 year old car isn't bad, as long as it has been looked after.

Now whether or not I'd get it, I'd go with no, but thats my opinion, I personally don't like them.

I think €3500 + your car would be a bit steep, even though the Ibiza wouldn't fetch much, I'd try for closer to €3k + your car for it.

If you can confirm that its been properly serviced at the correct intervals it should be fine. My only concern would be for the suspension. Things will be worn so make sure everythings as it should be. The price should factor this in plus the fact it will be hard to sell afterwards
