Windows 7 Issues

Having a couple of issues with Windows 7, wondering if anyone has encountered the same and come across a fix.

    Version: Windows 7 Pro x64

    1. Windows Explorer keeps restarting. It's crashing and rebooting intermittently.

    2. Defaults and passwords aren't being remembered; whenever I set defaults in MS Word 07, they aren't remembered. And recently Outlook has began forgetting passwords, the same for Firefox.

    Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

Handy hint #1 when it comes to looking for tech support:
    Read this

Handy hint #2: Make sure you've digested and understood #1, particularly the "Before you ask" section

Handy hint #3: Remember that bumping a thread or earlier post in which you've evidently ignored #s 1 & 2 will not endear you to the people from whom you anticipate receiving assistance.
