Hi all. this is probably going to sound stupid, but I'm beating myself up over it. It is off with my ex six months now. He lives in Galway so I don't see him much and we are not in contact so that suits me. He was seeing another girl behind my back but i didnt find out about that until after we broke up. He is still going out with her, which really wrecks my head. Pure jealousy on my part. He treated me badly, (but i took it) and I hate seeing him so happy now being the perfect boyfriend to her.

I was out last weekend in Galway for our Christmas party and i bumped into them on the street and a group of their friends. I said hi to my ex and the few friends I knew. He said hi back and I went on my way with my friends. Later that night I saw them in the nightclub, typical the one nightclub we went to he had to be there. My ex and i had a brief chat, general stuff, i instigated it, don't know why, probably because I hadn't seen him in ages. I just feel worse off now for chatting to him,it was awkward and we didn't have much to say. I felt like a stupid girl for even bothering and his friends just looked at me, they were pure off with me. I should have just left it. I went back to my friends and carried on with the rest of the night. I just feel so stupid for bothering to chat to him. He and his friends must think I'm sad, trying to chat to him. I know this isn't a major problem compared to others but I worry too much about what other's think of me. It's really getting to me. sorry for rambling.

The guy was seeing someone behind your back while still apparently committed to you, it was a bit silly to even attempt to talk to him, he's dirt.. a scumbag, the lowest of the low, he brings shame upon his sex.
Chin up, why give a fuxk what that pwick or any of his friends think of you.

I am a guy, btw. Just thought it was necessary to point that out, haha.

There's no point in beating yourself up over what happened. What's done is done. Next time you're unlucky enough to find yourself in the same place as him, just blank him. Put it down to experience.

Look at it this way - you have the attitude and strength to be the adult here even when he treated you like dirt.

Instead of giving yourself a hard time I think you should be proud that as far as everyone else is concerned you are able to carry yourself in public even with someone who disrespected you so much.

Would you prefer they saw you slink away in the nightclub instead when you saw them? I think you showed you are better than that :)

i think you handled this well. you showed that he didnt bother you at all that he was there. in future you know that it might be best just to not bother talking to an ex like that. but your getting on with life and this feeling will pass soon enough. you will find someone better.

I don't know why you are off with yourself, you behaved quite sensibly. I'd have a brief polite chat rather than out and out ignore.

Hi OP here. thanks so much for the replies. It knocked me when I saw him last week. I have just been so paranoid that they think I'm an eejit him and his friends, especially one of them who I used to get on with. But anyways I can't change it but it'll make me stronger. I've nothing to do with them anymore now. Time to for me to move on.
    Thanks again for replies.

if anything the ex is the eejit for cheating. you have nothing to worry about. dont let this damage your pride. you sound very sensible about it all and you should get over it very quickly ;o)
