Transferring from itunes to an mp3

    Hi there,

First of all my apologies if this is a silly question, I'm not that experienced with ipods, mp3's etc.
Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to transfer what you have on itunes to an mp3 player, such a Creative or Samsung or does it specifically have to be an ipod?
I have just started putting my CDs on itunes but am confused as to whether I would be better off buying an ipod or would I be okay getting an mp3 of another brand.
If it is the case that only ipods can copy from itunes what would the equivalent for itunes be for an mp3 player?

Thanks in advance for any responses

If you buy music via iTunes you have to have an iPod (I think)

Any MP3s you create from CDs using iTunes can be tranferred to an MP3 player by using the operating system to access the folder where iTunes stores the actual MP3 files and just copying them to the device - drag and drop - if the device supports that.

iTunes will only natively sync with an iPod, when it does, you can use iTunes to put MP3s on to it and to manage the contents of the iPod in general.

So, yes, music in iTunes can be put on a generic MP3 player, but not by using iTunes but by dealing directly with the files iTunes creates.
