Degree Grades question

First of all, is the DCU grading system like this?

    1.1 > 70%
    2.1 60%-69%
    2.2 50%-59%
    3.0 40%-49%
    Fail < 40%

if so, how is this graded. Is it the average of all of your scores? what I mean is, say you have 5 modules in fourth year. and 2 of them 2.5 credits, one is worth 15 credits and one is worth 5 credits. And lets say you got an average of 60% in all of those subjects. Would that mean you got a 2.1 grade? How would the score be calculated?

is simple, you add the five module scores, then divide by five,

Does the number of credits of each module not matter? What I mean is, if you get 100% in a 2.5 credit module and 70% in a 15 credit module, do you in this case add 100%+70% and divide by 2? (=85%)

this is fairly simple but a lot of people dont understand how its done. il explain with an example.

say you get 100% in a 2.5 credit module
    80% in a 5 credit module
    and 60% in a 15 credit module

    you get your final score by adding [(1 x 100) + (2 x 80) + (6 x 60)] and divide the whole lot by 9

therefore you will get 620/9 = 68.88 (your overall result will be a 2.1)

this means that subjects witha higher credit rating weigh more to your overall result.

    makes more sense, cheers.
