I'm going to be moving house from tyrellstown pretty soon in the new year and am looking for a new apartment, Is there any areas folks would recommend and any areas I should avoid? I know of a few to steer clear of already but if there was any spot someone would recommend that would be great! Work us up near the IT so would be handy to be a quick drive from that.

Gazelle village (in front of the green) is nice. And near the village as well which is handy.

Dont move to Porterstown. My friend lives there and while the appartments are really nice, he has had nothing but trouble, his car stolen, another car damaged and other day in the morning apartment broke into on the third floor!!

The OP is asking about Tyrellstown, not Porterstown

Actually I'm currently in Tyrellstown and am asking about other areas in D15 :)

If it's a nice area you are looking for, you can't really beat Castleknock, Carpenterstown is fine too (often referred to as Castleknock too!), but Castleknock has the park on its doorstep, relatively little crime, nice pubs restaurants, but that comes with a larger price tag than other areas in D15.

    Apologies! I misread the thread.

Rafa - apologies to you too!

Waterville would be good location wise. But I would say Castleknock for the overall vibe.

Waterville seems nice. Beside the aquatic centre. One or two places in there with for sale signs. Very close to the IT as well.

    5/6 a side football

    Coolmine Sports Centre - Wednesdays - 8pm

    PM me for a game

I used to live in Allendale Square on the Clonsilla Road , Great apartment and the complex was very quiet . I am out of it over two years now but doubt it has changed much.

Woodbrook on the diswellstown Rd. is quite nice but Waterville wins hands down when you consider the price, location and size.
The low level apts.are the nicest.

Yeah waterville does look good but since its just myself I'm a bit limited on budget etc. It looks like I might head the clonee direction to get a place.

The apts. in Ongar Village are nice, and right next to shops and Takeaways, sadly no pub. The 39 bus stops near there. But it is a little far out, though not that far, what I'm trying to say is that if you got a 1 bed in Waterville you'd save time and money on commuting.
It all depends on where you work and socialise and if you drive or want to share an apt.

    Need more info.

Cheers suey, I'm looking around the crescent in ongar at the moment. Does anyone know what the area is like? I'll be driving over to the IT park so the commute should not be too bad.
