Have set up Gmail on I pod and previously there was an option to delete the mail. I would click edit and the select it and then at the bottom I was given an option to delete but this button is now gone ? I reinstalled but the same thing? I tried the below but the same thing ?

To resolve this issue go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [affected account name] > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox on iPhone or iPod touch.

If "On the Server" is an option, select Trash below that (or select Deleted Items or Deleted Messages). Otherwise, select Trash located under "On My iPhone". Once the Deleted Mailbox has been set, tap Advanced and then press the Home button to return the Home screen.

If the Deleted Mailbox is already set to Trash, please follow these steps:

    1. Tap another folder such as Spam under the "On the Server" section
    2. Tap Advanced.
    3. Tap Deleted Mailbox, then set it to Trash located under On My iPhone.
    4. Tap Advanced.
    5. Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.

Is there anything I am missing ?

It's still there! Just press Edit, tap the dot beside the message(s) you want to delete and press Delete.

You can also just swipe the message sideways and you'll get the Delete button beside it.

Thanks the swipe works did not know that. However when I click edit and tap the dot beside it. It comes up with a tick but no button to press for delete ? I am deleting them one by one ? I had it before at the bottom this delete button came up to press but aint there now ?
