all depends on wat u want/current setup

    surround sound
central hdd wwould probably run over cat 5.
another 1 if u want to use as a pc?
    2/3 coax
audio link to rest of house to have same sound all over house

Cat six , more versatile , more bandwidth.
At least two points behind your TV , two input's where you AV equipment are going and at least one more in the room for BB. Leave two lengths of speaker cable(Pair) loose close to the rest of the house if you want to wire back.
Proper SPEAKER CABLE for what ever speakers your putting in. Not network cable or electrical cable.

cat 6 is better but a lot more pricey and unless u shell out for cat 6 compatible hardware etc its of no advantage to u really. wat is your current setup or wat do u want ur setup to achieve??

You probably need to sit down, and list all the stuff you will want in those rooms, to work out exactly what you need, and can then valid here for opinions.

As already said coax, speaker cable, and cat5e will be needed but just list for each room what you plan to have where, then also think about will things move from one side to the other, etc..

When you add TV's, Game consoles, Bluray/DVD Players, PC's, Phones, Surround sound, ceiling speakers, etc.. you quickly start running out of sockets, network points, etc...

Running all the cable now might cost a few quid more, however it will save you lots of hassle in the future even it it takes time to make 100% use of it.
