Old Kerry Co-Op shares value

Would anyone here have any idea how much old Kerry Co-Op shares are worth at the moment? A friend of mine might be selling some soon and I would be interested in buying them. AFAIK they don't trade on the stock market and can only be sold privately.
    Thanks

The first thing you need to do is to establish whether or not you're even allowed to buy shares in Kerry Co-Op. As far as I know, these shares are traded on the grey market and there are classes of shares that are restricted to co-op members who actively contribute to the co-op (i.e. dairy farmers). You need to find out the class of shares that are being offered to you, and to then talk to the Kerry Co-Op board if you're eligible to buy them.

As far as valuing the shares, the fact that they're not publicly traded and don't have public available records means that this is difficult. However, they're definitely worth something, as the group owns 24% of Kerry Group.
