Wii problem

    Hi all, I have a nintendo wii, bought second hand, I know the previous owner and also know it was looked after.
    Ok, so the problem iam having is, I went to play it after it was left on standby for a few weeks from my last session.
    It powers up and will take a disk, the light will turn blue for a long second and thats it, I have no picture on the t.v and there is also no sound.:confused:
    Even with no disc I still dont get the Wii's default screen, I have pressed the reset button, I have removed and returned the battery in the under side of the console and also pressed the power and reset together. The console was not left in any heat source, including direct sun light.
    It has never happened before I bought it, and has worked fine for me, the only thing that has happened is not playing it for a few weeks with the console left in standby mode. Is there any reset/ boot software, or any kind of fault finder. Thanks in advance, M.M
