    Hello,

I'm looking to buy a couple of games as gifts for Christmas.
I was checking eBay and a few sellers are saying in their descriptions for DS games that they will not work on a DSi.
    Surely this can't be right?
They are the same cartridge, aren't they?

I'm watching a few auctions ending soon so I'd appreciate if anyone can help.

    Cheers

All DS games should work fine on a DSi, the is the opposite however where there are some DSi specific games but not the other way around. Unless it's an r4 card or similar you're buying?

What games are you looking for exactly? The only DS games that don't work on the DSi are ones that use the GBA slot (Rockband/Guitar Hero, rumble packs etc.).

It's a few different games - Mario games, Zelda, etc.

I've contacted all the sellers and they are fairly insistant on this point. And a bit too pushy in trying to get me to buy.

Could the games be fake? Does the DSi have the ability to prevent the use of counterfeits?

Not interested in that kind of crap, but the sellers are making me suspicious that this might be the reason.

They are probably using fake cartridges which the DSi is able to detect and not run.

There is no reason the real versions of the games you have mentioned would not work in a DSi.

+1 to what Irish Halo said. TBH I wouldn't buy them. Seller seems a bit dodgy.
