The story is i play for blacks and whites hurling club in co. kilkenny. We recently won the leinster junior hurling championship. In the quarter final we got drawn against john mitchells from england.

    Some things im wondering though:
    1. Why are english teams now in championship
    2. Where is the match likely to be played, on january 10th
    3. Does anyone know what this english team is like.
    4. When were english teams introduced

Some of the English teams are decent enough. Who got drawn out first should determine where the game is played.

How are things in Skeagh Baisteain (unsure of spelling)? Big Ned still around?

1 and 4, British teams have been playing in All-Ireland compeititions for a long time, London in fact won the All-Ireland senior hurling championship back at the start of the 20th century.
2 procedure for arrangements would be just like any other side
3 couldn't tell you but I know their football team is good, they made the last All-Ireland junior club championship final, and only lost that to Kerry champions Skellig Rangers.

That's John Mitchells Liverpool you're talking about, it's John Mitchel's Warwickshire are the hurlers. I wouldn't be worried about them, they took a fair hammering at this stage last year from the Galway junior champs if I recall it right. Probably Junior B standard, poor enough but fair play to them for sticking at it all the same, there's no real hurling outside of London in the UK.
