Little bit of a bargain, HMV have Inglorious Basterds on Blu-Ray in their 2 for 30 euro instore. Picked it up this morning(along with Burn After Reading) in the pavillions in Swords.

Worked out cheaper than buying the DVD instore, although that's presuming you buy another Blu-Ray with it.

    That's great value!

Probably won't get into my local HMV tomorrow but here's hoping it was a nationwide mistake! :D

I noticed this is grafton street. It's actually slumdog/terminator salvation/angels and demons together in a pack which comes free with a bluray player, otherwise €56 seperately (still not a great deal though :p)

Just saw an ad for this in the paper, so it's a nationwide offer. Also included is GI Joe, so the two of them for €30 is pretty bloody good!

Mmmm...Sienna Miller in High Def and leather!

Superb... gonna pick up Inglourious Basterds!

Not too sure about GI Joe but saw Inglorious Basterds last weekend and loved it!

    Terrible movie.
Hitler and the entire German high command attending a film in Paris being guarded by exactly 2 soldiers

    True!

But give me "that" scene in Layer Cake in HD any day! :D

Christ.. it's fiction.. and riddled with historical inaccuracies.

That doesn't make it any the less enjoyable.

    Anyways, I loved it!

Pretty weak argument in fairness, basing your opinion of the film on one scene.

I'll be picking this up wonder what else is on offer.....

    One scene?
Trapping the Nazis in the cinema was the entire plot
    .

You'd think Tarantino could have come up with something a little more plausable.

I know it's a movie, but expecting the audience to believe that is insulting.

You didn't give any other indication.

Why insulting? Wasn't that bad IMO

Not that this is the film forum or anything, but Inglorious Basterds is a shockingly bad film. I've no major problems with historical inaccuracies but lack of basic logic pisses me off as well as scenes that last for an eternity.

There is a decent film in there somewhere but unfortunately it is the cinematic equivalent of Tarantino jerking himself off. Somebody needed to give him a slap in the edit suite and tell him to cop on and stop indulging himself with increasingly bad movies.

But it is a great price for a new release Bluray so nice find OP.

Yeah, back on topic from now on!

But for what it's worth - films are subjective no matter how much reviewers would try to convince it otherwise. Christ.. otherwise how would films like Mamma Mia have been a success?!

And it's too easy to criticize Tarantino nowadays, but he has his fans (and I'm one of them) and he's still pulling big box office bucks. And scenes like
    the opening
    and the scene
    in the bar
shows me that Tarantino's penchant is a writer foremost, and director second!

Anyways.. superb price for a Blu-ray that was actually just released on Friday.

I haven't watched it yet ( or seen it yet ) but am really looking forward to it. I love most of what Tarrintino has done so far so hopefully won't be disappointed.

I loved Jackie Brown, which alot of people thought was quite weak, so I'm not too bothered about the mixed reviews.

On a side note I also picked up a Blu-Ray triple box set of Kill Bill volumes 1 and 2 and Sin City for 30 euro.

Should have also said that if you wanted to buy Inglorious Basterds on its own it's still only 19.99 which is a good price for a new release Blu-ray.

After reading a post on AVForums, I had an idea. Anyone fancy getting a copy with me? That way we'd both get it for €15. I can meet someone in Grafton street on Thurs/Fri if that suits. They had copies of it this morning.

I was in the Swords shop again this morning and they had The Hurt Locker in their 2 for 30 euro offer. They also had It Might Get Loud and The Firm in the offer, all new releases.

Was in there this evening and there isn't any mention of an offer on Blu-rays.
