Can anyone recommend some running apparel consisting of:

Temperature regulating clothing for use all year round.
    High visibility vest/top
    Waterproof hat and jacket.

Also, where is the best value place to buy it - online or the likes of Up & Running?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I got a high viz Ronhill jacket from the Connemarathon site in recent days. Its the business. It has a hood which folds away too.

There are some hilly high viz tops that I find good too. Generally available.

I have some helly hanson long sleeved tops that are great for temperature regulation throughout the year, or as baselayer in winter. The likes of 53 Degrees North or the Great Outdoors will sort you out.

I find a Nike skullcap does, of the type worn by the Dublin marathon winner, the bees knees. Not water proof, but keeps out the cold.

    Cheers.

    Mick

I find wiggle www.wiggle.co.uk great for running gear, free delivery and fairly prompt too.

+1 re. Helly Hanson tops and Ronhill are great for jackets and running tops. Not sure about a waterproof hat or jacket...I just wear something warm on the head (i.e. any warm hat) and a light sleeveless jacket. You'll die of the heat in too much gear IMO, gloves and hat do the trick.

Thanks. I often go out in the rain (no choice!) - do you wear waterproofs? I've tried wearing a lightweight waterproof jacket but I get almost as wet with sweat as I would without it!

When you say a sleeveless jacket , do you wear a top underneath?

Do you wear shorts or tights?

No I don't wear waterproofs. I do wear running tights and a technical long sleeved top with a light sleeveless jacket over if it's cold. I'd have thought you'd get really hot in waterproofs. But everyone is different, that's just what I wear.
