Peugeot 407 Trouble

    Hi,
    I have a '04 Peugeot 407 2.0 HDi. The amber engine warning light came on on the dash a few months after I bought it after about a year ago. Had it in the peugeot diagnostics because 'depollution systion faulty' was coming up.

    They told me in peugoet that the EGR valve(exhaust gas recirculating valve) needs to be replaced and the particle filter will need to be replaced soon. They were quoting me €400 for a new EGR valve and approx €300 labour and thats just for the EGR valve.

    Can anyone shed any light on this. Has anyone else had this problem. Can I get the parts spurios?

    Hi ggib,
    The egr valves do give trouble on the 20L Hdi's...:rolleyes:
    I guess you have around 100k if your dpf is blocking up...??
