    Hi there,

We have the diamond for an engagement ring. Has anyone got positive experience of a jeweller that can show us a small choice of quality 18k yellow gold bands, 6 white gold prong setting, and can be trusted to set a 1ct round diamond to perfection?

Need this for Christmas so its getting to be a bit of a rush job !

    Thanks everyone.

Hello there. An independent jeweller is your best bet (like Michael Perry in the Powerscourt centre) or diamond.ie's bench Da Capo Jewellers (http://www.dacapo.ie/flash/DaCapo.html) HTH :)

Had engagement ring made by J&Z Blackman - excellent service.

Try Michael Perry in the Powerscourt centre in Dublin city centre.

Thanks folks for all the suggestions. I'll start with the chap in Powerscourt and hopefully get this sorted for Christmas. I'll post back with my findings !

    Many thanks

Good luck - we used Michael Perry to make a ring to suit my wife's engagement ring and he did a great job. He comes across as really laid back, but he's very good.

O'Connors in Harold's Cross did a similar job for me, though my OH wanted a 4-prong setting. 6-prong seems to be more popular so they should have plenty of choice, give them a ring to see.

Very happy with the result, and they did the work in about a week.

Also the Jewellery House on Pleasants Lane do fittings like the what you're talking about, if you're walking by, pop in. Should be able to tell you what you need to know straight away.
