Okay so I've got an interview later on today with my local Dunnes Stores. I've actually had an interview with a different Dunnes before and didn't get the job. I think that last time I overdid it, the job was mroe to do with stacking shelves and I went in dress in shirt and tie. Kind of waffled on a bit about how I was ambitious and I think I blew it by overdoing it.

It's just for part time work during 3rd level and if anyone has any tips on how to approach this sort of interview I'd be delighted to hear them.

    :)

Dunnes stores interviews are fairly simply they just want to know if u have cop-on,loose the tie -slacks and a shirt (smart casual) should do ive worked for dunnes twice and the interview was pretty simple just keep it simple and you should be grand.

Never be ashamed of over dressing for an interview. It gives the employer an idea of how smart you will look in different rolls like customer service or on the tills in Dunnes example.

Additionally there is nothing wrong with ambition. For example. Dont be ashamed to say. If Dunnes stores feels I settled into the job well I am hopeing they will promote me up the ladder to a managers job and onwards as i do better. But then dont say well you job looks easy enough I would not mind that!

I have worked as a manager and believe it or not i have worked for Dunnes afterwords as a shelf packer.

Dunnes stores just wants you to be reliable, flexable(incase they need to change your hours) and always be busy so dont be a talker.

    Best of luck.
