Where's the most authentic Santa?

    Ok here's the problem.

For reasons I won't go in to for fear of evoking the "call that parenting" groups my four year old still has a soother.

The agreement is that this year Santa is going to take all her soothers and give them to kids who have none.

In order to complete this task effectively I believe I need to visit the best Santa in the village!

Someone full of cheer, a Santa with time to talk and engage and most of all a Santa with cop on. Not looking for some retail profit driving Santa whose paid a slightly above minimum wage to get the kids in and out for maximum amount of visits.

I would love to bring her to the Irish lapland of Santa's - is there such a thing?

Alternative is to get friendly neighbour to dress up for a personal "Santa on call".....

I've heard good things about the Santa in Dundrum, will be there tomorrow probably with my 11 month old hope she won't get too upset. I think he is 10euro and you get a photo and pressent.

I'm sure if you explain it to the Santa beforehand he'll have no problems playing along. :)

There used to be a brill one in Arnotts but I have a feeling that he may have retired (open to correction on that). I'd say a safe bet would be any of the big shopping centres. Realistically der all goin to have to have good ones considering the huge demand/epectations they have to contend with.

    Hiya.

We were at Glenroe Farm yesterday and I have to say the Santa and Missus Claus were really lovely - ok the Santa beard and wig were a bit of a mess but my just five year old has been telling everyone he saw the real Santa yesterday (and you can't get much over this kid to be honest).

It is €15 in however it includes a great puppet show and access to the farm and all the animals - there is also a cafe and a playground.

An alternative might be to tell your little one that Santa needs the soothers for the baby reindeers and if she won't give it to Santa in person then maybe leave it out fro him on Xmas eve - my SIL did that with my niece last year and it worked a treat..

    Best of luck!
