Thinking of heading out to Sauze d'Oulx and doing a Ryan Air gig - any recommendations on accommodation \ transfer to the resort?

    Thanks,

You can definitely get the train to Oulx, then a local bus up the mountain. In fact, you could even stay in Oulx and go up every day to ski if you want a hotel.

Should be easy enough to find an apartment on-line unless you are doing weird days like Wednesday to Wednesday.

Went to Sauze d'Oulx on Dec 27th last year for a week. Got a bus from the airport to the train station, train to Oulx and a taxi up the mountain to Sauze (about 5km?). A paiin in the ass to be honest. Only when we got to our hotel did we find out that they would have collected us at the airport for something like €50pp which would have saved us loads of time (1hr transfer instead of 3-4hrs lumping luggage). We bumped into 2 lads from Cork on the way to Sauze d'Oulx with nothing booked. Just arrived on spec and had no problem getting a hotel - think they stayed Sat to Tue/Wed - so accommodation should never be hard to find.

ha we did the exact same thing last year. Got the train and bus to the resort but got the hotel to organise us a taxi back. For 4 people I don't think there was much difference in price but it was a hell of a lot quicker in the taxi.

We found a rep from a Thomson's(IIRC) and jumped on a tour they had going to the neighbouring french resorts on the thursday or friday.

We also went for an evening meal half way up the resort, had a game of football in the snow and skiied down to the village afterwards in the dark with torches strapped to our heads, drunk off our asses, being lead by a guy with a flare. Highly recommended. The reps will let you join in activities if even if you haven't booked with the company, as long as you pay.
