Hi

My 2 old children ( 7 agús 5 ) both attend an Irish school. We are moving house next week and the they will have to change schools. The new school that they will attend is not a gaeilscoil. I am very sad about this and wish that I could keep them at their old scoil but its just to far to travel each day. My eldest is in rang ahón and is really used to the Gaeigle now. I suppose what I am trying to ask is am I making a big mistake here or will they just adopt to the new school and I am making a fuss over nothing ????

They're really lucky to have such a brilliant and devoted mother. Fair play to you! Could you organise a lesson for them in Irish every so often so that there is continuity?
Don't worry, whatever they have learned so far will really stand to them in the future.

Thanks "pog it" I have asked in there school could I still get some of there Irish homework from them and they have agreed to this. Also 2 of there friends mums are friends of mine so the kids will meet up and we ( the mums) have said that we will get them to speak as Gaeilge when they do ( I am not pushing this they would do it anyway ) This whole move has me so upset. I feel like I am destroying there chances down the line. I wish there was a web site for kids in Irish that was for primary level or is there one anyone know this ????
