The story is, we bought a house about 4 years ago. The units in the kitchen are white and I had intentions of replacing those units but with things the way they are at the minute, I'm not keen on borrowing again to put in a new kitchen. The problem that I have is that I feel it's very bland and cold. As I said, the units are white (with black handles on drawers and presses), the tiles are black and white and the walls were painted white. I'm not blessed with interior design know how so I'm looking for some suggestions for a paint colour that will give a different feel to the kitchen. I wouldn't really be interested in a big bold colour all over but might consider it on one wall. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Richie,
You will probably have to go with the "warm" colors.
Maybe a coffee/cappuchino color on the walls? You could have a coffee color on one or 2 of the walls around around the units and then a lighter color in on the none cupboarded walls.
Maybe a magnolia if the budget is tight will bring up the walls.
I think Orange/a sun color might be too much, but you could maybe do one feature wall.

Are u goign to replace the tiles? Are these on the wall or the floor?

    Cheers Aidan.

The tiles are on the floor. There aren't tiles on the walls (yet) but I intend to rectify that in this project. I'm gonna get a couple of colour cards tomorrow and have a look at the coffee type colours. I might give you a ring next week to bounce a few things off you ;)

Not a bother, I am NO interior designer though!!!! If you took a pic of the kitchen and brought it with you to the paint shop then it could help them give you advice.
