    Hi James,

glad you are still going I know you were having a hard time over the last while. I am surprised a UK company has shown an interest with sterling being so weak at the moment but hopefully it works out for you. The best rates I have found for a pallet from the UK is a company called TGMFL. I was getting pallets for 75 sterling delivered Dublin so they should pick it up from you and deliver Sheffield for around 100 euro a pallet. A trend I have seen recently (especially around foxrock ect.) is fancy wooden car ports outside houses, it might be something to look into to keep you busy.

    Good luck

Thanks for the reply mickk, bloody difficult at the moment, but im trying to survive till xmas eve, when banks, companies are all closed, and leave me in peace for a while, laugh, yeah, ive been in contact with the uk company for a few months, they deal mainly with commercial projects, schools, municalipies, skateparks, safety surfacing, and they like my products, been so heavily built, etc,im already on their website in the uk,and now just trying to work out transport costings, roughly flatpack size is 8ft long,4ft wide,4 ft high, got 1 quote today, they say it will be 2 pallets, ballpark figure is picked up ,delivered €200,

Re Car Ports, ive lived in OZ and US,they were very popular there,do you know if they come in flatpack format,or does a carpenter have to go and physically go and measure, cause im sure all side sections are different, its something ill look into, ive heard something about them up that way, might drive up sometime, maybe take a few pics, and get an idea, thanks again for your help

Do you what jamsey you're the sort of guy i'd love to work with. I've looked at your products and they are top nonch. I think the prob is that you're so busy making the stuff you dont have the time to market same. Fair play on gettin the uk deal.

Hi Stepbar, maybe youre correct, ive kinda started selling flatpack kits at the moment,i still install them, they are a lot lighter, not as robust, but,i guess, right now,CHEAPER,yes, without a doubt the marketing is what i need to look into, ive done all the normal things, newspapers, radio, leaflets, inserts in the papers, house to house etc,im going to go up to malahide, foxrock, etc, and drop off flyers next week, ive never targeted the dublin area, installed a nice unit in knocklyon recently, and they said they couldnt get anyone to install a uit,soo it got me thinking about that area
    thanks

    James,
look at the B&Q uk site.....they have wooden car ports there. Dimensions etc should be available.

I reckon you should go to all your local courier companies etc and up-sell your company to them. Tell them this is going to be long term and your shipping will substantially increase in the very near future. You want the best possible price to start with and you will show loyalty in return.

Be very definate and direct and always remember - you have the business they need.

The reason I say LOCAL is because you can meet directly with the owner. ALWAYS DRESS TO IMPRESS.

.....but only talk to a transport co who does groupage - waste of time otherwise.
PM barryM3 here, he's in this end of biz.
