Hi guys,
I'm building a site called Band Fox and I'd like any suggestions or opinions you may care to share. You should get an idea of the sites intent by reading the opening paragraph on the home page.

This is more to do with the layout of the site but anyway, here goes:
The overall look and feel of the site is very plain. I prefer to see links that change in some way (like becoming underlined or changing colour) when the mouse cursor is over them. At the very least the big purple Join Now button should do something when it's hovered over. The plain white background of the main content section is, to be blunt, boring.

There are some typos in your first paragraph:

Place Classified adds for the right people to find.

and

Your BandFox profile can be an online résumé / CV,

The join form is messed up on Opera. See here:



The action in the URL is misspelt as "joni_now" rather than "join_now". That could cause problems if it's not resolved.

That was all I noticed in a quick browse through the site.

Anyway, best of luck with it, be sure to let us know when it's updated.

It is worldwide but one of the ideas is that you can narrow a search by clicking on the "location" links at the top of each member profile.

If you take a sample member from Ireland you can click Ireland or Meath to narrow a search.

A sample U.S. profile might be a better example if you click U.S.A. or Illinois

Not sure what you mean Eoin. I suppose it would be a nice feature if I build an "invite a friend" page. It could be a form that you just enter a friends email address on, a brief message and click send. It would then send your friend an invite to join.

Thanks Malice for everything you've pointed out embarrassing as some of it was I think I've cleaned up the typos and it should be looking a bit better in Opera now. As regards the overall look and feel, you're right, it's all quite plain, but I'll get around to that end later

but now that you mention it being able to invite other non musician friends would be a good idea too
