    Hi all,
After endless amounts of hours researching online, Ive decided to settle with the above. I always liked the Toshiba Satellite brand and Ive known quite a few friends to have them, who had very few problems with them. Seem very robust.

Peats are selling it for 769 euro.
Anyone seen it anywhere else, for cheaper?

    Thanks

Hi Tiesto, I just bought the A500 17x from PC World yesterday. They were advertising for 794 and i haggled €20 off the asking and then they had the 3 yr extended warranty down from 289 to 189 and i haggled another €30 off that aswell. I got a popup that had me worried saying that quicktime needed windows 7 64 bit installed(assuming only the 32 bit had been installed) but so far(24 hours) and all looks OK. Have you had any issues?

It was 699 but I haggled it down to 630:)

Last night it totally froze. I left it alone for 20 mins but it wouldn't even allow me to access start the task manager. All i had open was dreamweaver and the internet so no serious loading. I find also sometimes google is a little slower than on my wife's PC. I got her a new dell inspiron 1545 from DID for 535 . But last night i ended up doing a forced shut down. Hope this doesn't continue.......

    Hi,

I picked up the A500-19X just after Christmas. It's a great machine, no real noticeable problems until I started paying attention to the speakers.

Every 10 seconds or so, there's some sort of crackling/static coming from both speakers.. At first I thought it was damaged .mp3 files but the same static can be heard on new CDs too.

Anyone else having this problem? I've briefly searched the Toshiba website but can't see any solutions.

    Cheers,
    -Matt

I saw the toshiba L500-19x advertised on bms.ie/toshiba for 549 euro and a friend got one in Powercity for a similar price last week.
