when applying for rent-allowance, the latest rules require that the tenant has been renting there for a minimum of 6 months already. I've been renting from well over 6 months ago now but have always just paid in cash when I pick up my dole.
anyone here know what might suffice as "evidence" aside from bank statements?

I know the lad I rent from, and we did write up and sign a simple agreement of tenancy between us at the start.

will I have trouble satisfying the social welfare that I've been renting there?

nope all you need is a copy of your tenacy agreement that you signed when you started to rent.

you will recieve a form every few months for yourself and your landlord to sign stating how much you pay monthly/weekly etc

both you and the landlord/agent must sign and date and you then hand it to your relieving officer. It must be done with 2 weeks of the date it was sent to you I think.

    cool. thanks for that.

Oh, ...and regarding the rent-a-room scheme,
despite his income from the rent being tax-free, my landlord will just have to fill out some form to be returned before the end of the year? ...have I got that one right?
