The one about the ticket checker confiscating a student ticket because the person didn't have their IE student id.

I thought you couldn't delete threads??!!

    You mean this?
You thought wrong. Threads can be (soft) deleted.

No. It was more recent than that one.

I posted on it literally an hour ago!

    Indeed amdublin,curiouser and curiouser.....

Not even a note in the window to advise interested parties.......although there were rumblings concerning the legal ramifications of naming of an individual IE staff member .

Perhaps some unpleasantness ensued while you were away ?

There were developments. People were embarrassed and all involved would like to put it behind them. To spare blushes, I was asked to delete it.

And they all lived happily ever after.

    The End.

Don't want to get banned for back-seat modding but to be honest I think this is a bad decision.

I don't know what was posted after I last looked so maybe I missed something outrageous, but surely those posts could have been deleted without the thread being deleted.

A lot of threads where claims made about bad behaviour of IE,DB,BE staff have been left open, here was a thread about a guy doing their job properly and protecting revenue and it gets closed. I know the mods have lots of other stuff to do and perhaps it was requiring too much intervention but then surely just close it rather than delete it?

    Yes Dereko 1969,a valid point.
Gererally the modding on this section is of a high standard but this particular line of reasoning is odd.

As it stands, those contributing to the deleted thread are in a sortofa limbo as to what happened or who sinned ?

There was nothing majorly inflammatory on it imo:confused:

God, if I could only get all the posts that I posted and was subsequently embarrassed about deleted that'd be great!!!!!!

I thought the whole point was that you couldn't delete threads just because you wanted to/were embarrassed about what you said???
